Terms of use
These terms are not in force yet. The app is still being built and is not open to the public.
These terms describe what the app does, what it does not do, and what we expect from you. They apply to anyone who uses the app, whether they paid for anything or not. Buying an extension, if you ever do, is governed by a separate document, the terms of sale.
What the service is
The app lets a group of people who are physically together share their position for a limited time, so they can find each other more easily during an outing.
The group is formed on the spot, by reading a code shown on another phone screen. There is no account, no sign-up, and no way to join a group remotely.
The session stops on its own at the time chosen, with nobody having to do anything, and the data it held disappears.
What the service does not guarantee
The app depends on things that are not ours: network coverage, how long phone batteries last, and the way each operating system handles apps in the background.
We therefore guarantee neither the availability of the service, nor the delivery of a notification, nor the accuracy of a position at any given moment.
The app always shows how old a position is and the uncertainty around it: those indications are part of the service and are not to be ignored.
A phone that is off, out of network, out of battery, or whose user has force-stopped the app can neither send its position nor receive an alert.
The group alert
Here is, word for word, what the app shows next to the alert button.
O grupo todo vai receber um alerta sonoro com a sua posição. Isso NÃO chama o socorro.
In an emergency, dial the emergency number of the place you are in. The app reminds you of it, it never dials it for you.
What you agree not to do
You must not use the app to follow someone without their knowledge.
Everyone in a session sees at all times what they are sharing, is told about any change, and can leave the session at any moment. Working around those indications, or having the app installed on someone else's phone without their agreement, is forbidden.
Sharing a minor's position is a matter for the person with parental authority, who opens the session and chooses what is shared.
What users write
The first name, the picture and the place names you choose are visible to the other members of your session, and to them only.
That content is encrypted: we cannot read it, so we can neither check it, nor filter it, nor take it down.
If something bothers you, the app lets you remove a person from the session, with immediate effect, and report the problem to us. A report reaches us without the content concerned, which we remain unable to read.
Minors
A session involving a minor is opened and configured by the person with parental authority, who accepts these terms for the child they are with.
The child's screen shows, in words suited to their age, what is being shared, with whom, and until when.
Changes, interruption, governing law
We may change the app and these terms. Any change that would widen what we receive will be announced in the app before it takes effect.
We may interrupt the service, in particular for maintenance, which ends the running sessions. There is nothing to recover after an interruption: the app keeps nothing of your outings.
These terms are governed by French law. If you live in another European Union country, you keep the benefit of the consumer protection rules of your country of residence.
